Karina Esperanza Yanez is an art educator and administrator from South-Central Los Angeles with a demonstrated history of working in arts education and arts management. Her goal is to provide students with the necessary tools to become creative in their own right as young artists and positively engage with their communities.

Karina is a multidisciplinary artist who works in photography, printmaking, sewing, drawing, and everything else in between. Karina holds two Graduate degrees; one from the Rhode Island School of Design in Art & Design Education with an emphasis on Community Arts Education and one from Sotheby’s Institute of Art at Claremont Graduate University in Arts Administration. She earned her BFA in Fine Art with a minor in Cultural Studies from the California Institute of the Arts.

You can find her cozying up with her two dogs when she's not teaching, facilitating workshops, or creating art.
